چکیده
The objective of this work was to produce and characterize activated carbon from sugarcane bagasse agglomerated with Alumina (Al2O3) apply it in treatment vinasse pretreated by coagulation-flocculation reduce the toxics parameters vinasse. adsorbent characterized textural analysis, XRD, pHZPC, SEM EDS. Adsorption isotherms, adsorption kinetics thermodynamic process were obtained. Langmuir isotherm model fitted experimental data better pseudo-first-order best represented kinetics. spontaneous, exothermic increased entropy. combined coagulation-flocculation/adsorption efficient reducing color, turbidity, COD, TOC toxicity removal rates 73.50, 96.06, 72.65, 76.08, 78% respectively.

Equilibrium and Kinetic Studies on Lead (II) Adsorption by Sugarcane Bagasse Derived Activated Carbon (TECHNICAL NOTE)
Municipal and industrial wastewater contain a lot of contaminants. The major contaminants of concern are heavy metals. Heavy metals are known to be toxic, non-biodegradable and have a long half-life. The release of untreated wastewater containing heavy metals can cause serious problems to human, plants and animals. In this study, activated carbon was developed from sugarcane bagasse and its eff...

متن کاملPreparation and characterization of activated carbon from sugarcane bagasse by physical activation with CO2 gas
A series of experiments have been conducted to study the effects of different carbonization temperatures (400, 600, and 800oC) on characteristics of porosity in activated carbon derived from carbonized sugarcane bagassechar at activation temperature of 800oC. The results showed that the activated carbon derived from high carbonized temperature of sugarcane bagassechars had higher BET surface ar...
متن کاملPhenol Removal from Aqueous Solutions by Adsorption on Activated Carbon of Miswak’s Root Treated with KMnO4
Background and Purpose: Phenol and derivatives are common pollutants of drinking water which are blamed for crucial adverse effects such as poisoning, cancer, and malformation. In this study, an activated carbon of Miswak’s root (MR) was used for the removal of phenol from aqueous solutions as a low-cost and high surface adsorbent. Materials and Methods: Adsorption exper...
